For golfers, the 'crown jewel' is the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club, offering a stunning 18-hole course with lush fairways, impeccable greens, and tranquil mature tree-lined fairways.

Seasonal Events

Throughout generations, locals and visitors have found the Sunshine Coast to be a magical place to celebrate the gifts of all the seasons.  In the Spring, visitors flock to local events such as the Sunshine Coast Kayaking Princess Louisa Expedition, Malibu Arts Retreat and Gibsons Landing historic celebrations.  The Summer months present opportunities to enjoy great music at such events as the Gibsons Landing Jazz Festival, Performing Arts Week and Canada Day Celebrations.  The Fibre Arts Festival in August is always a much anticipated and well attended event.  Water sports enthusiasts look forward to the excitment of the annual Outrigger Canoe Races and Gibsons Yacht Regatta.  

Throughout the year, the friendly and hospitable atmosphere of the historic seaside community of Gibsons Landing make it a favourite destination on the Sunshine Coast.

Parks and Recreation

Cliff Gilker Park - stroll for a few minutes or hike for hours through a beautiful rain-forest endowed with waterfalls. There are also picnic and play areas for family fun, and an adjacent 18-hole golf course.

Soames Hill - For more ambitious hikers, Soames Hill offers a challenging climb through forested trails to a rewarding panoramic view of Howe Sound and Gibsons at an elevation of almost 800 feet.  

Pioneer Park - A pleasant garden setting graced with a bronze statue of the Town's founder, George Gibson, marks the site of the Lower Gibsons Visitor Information Centre.

Municipal Parks - There are several municipal parks in the community of Gibsons Landing where you can enjoy swimming, beachcombing, tennis courts and picnic sites.

Restaurants

Cafe New Orleans, (604) 886-6722 on Marine Drive, has some of the most creative and delicious food preparations in Lower Gibsons, not to mention fabulous sunset viewing and great jazz performances!  The crab cakes, chef's specials and sweet potato pecan pie are often sell-outs!  Highly recommended by residents and visitors alike.

Art's Waterfront Restaurant, (604) 886-2831 on Marine Drive, near the entrance to Lower Gibsons, is favoured for its delicious hardy breakfasts, light lunches and gourmet dinners which can include fresh fish in season, steaks, barbecue chicken and ribs, and daily specials.

Leo's Mediterranean Tapas & Grill, (604) 886-9414 is also located on the main street in Gibsons Landing.  When locals want to indulge in souvlaki, Greek salads, Spanakopita and calamari, they go to Leo's.

Opa's Japanese Restaurant, (604) 886-4023 satisfies those who prefer miso soup, sushi, sashimi and tempura.  Opa's gentle atmosphere, waterfront view and enticing flavours are always enticing.
 
Chez Phillipe, (604) 886-2188 is regarded Gibsons' best French restaurant with west coast flair. In its intimate dining room, patrons can watch beautiful sunsets while enjoying a delicious rack of lamb, sumptuous seafood or a very special gourmet offering each evening.

The Gumboot Cafe, (604) 885-4216, located in Roberts Creek is known for its organic home-made preparations and its eclectic and loyal clientelle. Locals and visitors delight in the intimate, casual atmosphere, multicultural menu and frequent evening entertainment.
